In teh field of human medicine, obesity in developed countries is considered a 21st century epidemic by the World Health Organization. Current data on obesity in dogs and cats suggest a similar pattern in veterinary medicine. Althought widespread and easy to diagnose, many aspects of obesity are misunderstood.
