Marianne M. Sloet van Oldruitenborgh-Oosterbaan, Derek C. Knottenbelt This practical guide to equine dermatology sets out to describe the more common disorders of the equine skin. It does not pretend to give a full review of all skin diseases in the horse. We have also included some more rare disorders because these have interesting features or may not be as rare as we thought in the past. This book is not a review of all knowledge described in literature, it is a compilation of current knowledge of the authors acquired on a day-to-day basis in university equine referral hospitals. More detailed information can be found in the references. Some of those have been essential for our understanding of equine dermatology over the last decades.
